Ancient wisdom teachings, including those of the Buddha, ask humans to pay attention to the richness of life on our planet, to offer gratitude for all that we receive, and to care for all living things. And yet, while the earth calls for our attention, our focus is lost in digital screens and indoor living. As a result, we feel deeply disconnected, distracted, and dulled. We also fail to respond wisely as the earth and its species suffer greatly. The good news? We can reawaken our sensory awareness by stepping out into any natural setting and skillfully expanding our field of our attention. Through meditation in the natural world, we can open our minds and hearts, and form a deeper connection with all living things.
Do you experience the painful effects of self-judgment, or hurt from your mind’s harsh attacks on yourself? If you wish to be free from the torment of the inner critic, then this weekend retreat is for you. During our time together, you will learn to work with self-judgment with clarity and skill and develop greater self-acceptance, self-compassion and forgiveness as antidotes to criticism.
In this unique, live, online retreat format, we will be co-creating a container for continuity of practice supporting the development and deepening of your capacity for awareness. Participants will cultivate these foundations in the context of formal meditation practice and with the support of respected and skilled teachers in the Insight Meditation Tradition.
